Veteran games designer Bob Bates is crowdfunding a brand new text adventure called 'Thaumistry: In Charm's Way'. It seems it will support Linux too, as it's plainly listed in the description. It's actually inside an image with text, so you need to view the page to see it. It was confusing at first when I tried to do CTRL+F to find it in the description.

He has $20,550 pledged of the $25,000 goal, so it looks like it will easily hit it considering it still has 21 days left to go.

The game will have no art, as it really is a proper text adventure. Not my thing at all, but I'm sure some of you will be interested.

I'm very hyped about this because Eric the Unready is one of the funniest games I've ever played. And Timequest was very interesting. Bates is definitely one of the designers I trust and respect.

Eric the Unready was really funny, that's true. I haven't played a pure text adventure in years, but this will be hard to pass up.

If you're into this sort of thing, might I also recommend checking out "Hadean Lands" [Steam, Itch.io ] - a brilliant brain bender/breaker of note.
