Brian Fargo confirms Torment: Tides of Numenera will launch for Linux day-1

By - | Views: 22,393

We already had confirmation that Torment: Tides of Numenera [Official Site] would launch day-1 on Linux here on GOL from an email chat with inXile, but it's always good to see fully public confirmation.

Some additional good news to report; I am told that Torment will be available on Linux and Mac on the same day as all other formats.

The game will launch for everyone on February 28th, so not long to go! It's a shame it didn't get a Linux release during Early Access for Linux gamers to help test, so here's to hoping it's a polished experience for us. This is one game I expect great things from!

Going by previous experiences, I reckon you'll have finished all the others before the Linux Version of Divinity: Original Sin 2 is out.

But I digress. This is a happy News article, and I'm happy indeed about the New Torment.

looks to be a really great spiritual successor to planescape: torment.
i'm hoping one of these days i'll see BTCS2, I spent untold amount of hours making games on the original bard's tale construction set. unfortunately the internet was only in it's infancy back then.

Well, to begin with, they're not all coming out at the same time, you should have plenty of time to finish TToN before the other games come out. Second, D:OS2 has not been confirmed for Linux. Even if it does come to Linux, given how long it took the first game to make its way over to the penguin, you may be waiting a few years.

Are you complaining about that?

I have over 50 games in my backlog and then I stopped counting.. >_>

I'm really looking forward to this release. There are too few quality RPGs out there that focus more on story and RP.

Of course, it is a "Luxusproblem"! :)
(Does this translate to "happy problem"?)

a) This is not quite Shadowrun
b) Shadowrun is great, so if it were like Shadowrun, that's a big win!
c) your opinion is valid as an opinion, of course

I'm happy DOS 2 is not out for Linux yet since it is early access. Still I wouldn't mind it to be released as a day 1 port or maybe a few weeks later (major bugs might be fixed by then).
