Looks like Dying Light is set to get more free DLC

By - | Views: 14,445

Techland sent out a bit of a teaser today which claims a bunch of new DLC are on the way for Dying Light [Steam].

The teaser wasn't much to go on, but here it is (the link a small Twitter video):

The writing's on the wall... we're continuing supporting #DyingLight with 10 free pieces of DLC over 12 months. pic.twitter.com/A93hmevbfT

10 new DLC packs coming to Dying Light, that's quite a lot. Considering the amount of them, I don't expect them to be all that big. It's good to know they're still updating it though, with recent patches that fix up some lingering issues in this Linux version and now new DLC. Even better that they will be free!

I have 60 hours in the game and for the most part I've loved it. I'm still gradually going through the 'The Following' expansion, which is absolutely huge so it's taking quite a while.

Hopefully soon myself and Sin will continue our livestreams of Hard Mode, stay tuned!

You wrote Dying Light is for discount on Steam. But can't buy Dying Light in Germany directly on steam.

I would buy it. But while I'm not a big fan of zombie games only for discount.

This seems to be the only legal possibility for German players:

What is the normal price on steam? Sorry, can't see it.

For now "Dying Light: The Following - Enhanced Edition" cost on Steam in Poland 19,99€. If you can't buy on Steam (unfortunately this is a known problem with lots of games in germany :/ ) you can buy it directly on developer/publisher Techland store, they have box version (box + steam key) and digital (only steam key) both cost 119,90 zł (about 28 euro). Here in Czech Rep.:
- standard Steam price: €49.99
- discounted Steam price (for the next 27 hours): -60% = €19.99

I'm also not much into this zombie BS, but I'm still thinking about buying it - seems like a good action+survival FPS with nice graphics on Linux :)

Wish they would work on fixing the game on Amd video cards. I tried to play it again last month on my RX480 and was getting around 15 fps or lower at some point. Ran the game on my old GTX 960 and was getting over 40 fps.

This is genuinely disappointing. Im itching to get a Vega when it is released.
Believe it or not this is one of my main considerations for finally moving back to Team Red. I really like the Dying light series on Linux and although it performs like a lawnmower with a hair-dryer for an engine on Linux under Nvidia it's better than performing like a Tank with a hair-dryer for an engine on AMD.

One of the big tests I would run straight away with my new shiny hardware would be a game of DL with the settings on high. Im not sure even Vega could push through such low performance on this title for me @1440p.

Im fairly surprised Vulkan hasn't been announced for this title yet given that Techland are into err.. Tech.

I'm also from Germany and bought my Steam Key for DL in Austria when it was released.
So I guess it's worth to look there too since it's legal.

More reasons to kill zombies with katanas and hand-made stuff?

Yes please!
razing32 Jun 15, 2017
Ok , two things :

1) I am glad others are taking CD Projekt Red's example and releasing free DLC to keep interest in their game alive.

2) Germany ? The heck is happening ? I thought only games with Nazi imagery got banned (for obvious reasons)

Are you using Mesa because if you're not yup that is what you will be getting Mesa is so much better than AMD drivers at this point. But its not an issue for just this game basically on Linux if you are hardcore into gaming you have to go nvidia ideally with an intel processor. Amd performance as gotten way better for sure but intel/ndvidia for now is still the way to go.
