Another look at some good Linux games going cheap

By - | Views: 7,395

A day later than intended, but here's another look at some good Linux games that are currently going for cheap.

Disclaimer: GOG and Humble Store links are affiliate links, they help keep the server hamsters fed and running.

First up is the obvious one you don't want to miss, Humble Indie Bundle 19 is going strong with nine great Linux games, with Action Henk and JYDGE being the recent additions.

We also have the Humble Monthly, with Deus Ex: Mankind Divided as an Early unlock. Subscribing also gives you access to the Humble Trove with plenty of Linux games available in it too!

Humble Store is also having a Kalypso Week sale, where you can grab Tropico 5 the complete collection with 75% off. Dungeons 3 is also 50% off and Sudden Strike 4 is also 65% off and my final pick is MidBoss with 40% off—all interesting games worth checking out. You can see all Humble games on sale here.

As for GOG, they have a few interesting deals as well like Cryptark for 65% off, Rogue Legacy for 75% off, Freedom Planet has 50% wiped away and SteamWorld Dig is also 50% off. Find all GOG games on sale here.

As for Steam, there's a number of goodies on sale there too. Some good titles like This War of Mine which is free to try for three days and 70% off if you like it, Door Kickers has 80% slashed off and also Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun with 33% off, don't miss the Metro Redux Bundle either as it's 85% off. Find all Steam games on sale here.

Let us know if you pick up anything good!

Usual reminder, find a bunch of Linux games on Sale at any time on our dedicated Sales Page.

Quoting: GuestI'm thinking of getting the Metro Redux games, they're both 80% off at the moment and 85% off if you pick them up together!

But I'm curious.. Does anyone know if the DRM-free builds shipped with the HumbleBundle version comes with a Linux build? If it does, I much rather wait until the games are on sale on there so I can snag a drm-free + steam key.. But the GOG versions of the games only support Windows

Can anyone confirm if the DRM-free builds included in the HB version includes Linux?

The DRM free builds are not on Linux, Steam only.

Quoting: GuestNot as sure about 2033 though, I bought that on sale last year and quickly refunded when it was running very badly for me on my linux install, that was on my old 760 2gb though hopefully it'll be better on my new 1060 3gb

Don't know what problems you saw, they both ran great on my 750 ti when I bought them years ago.

I'm getting Metro as well, it's just 5$, so even if one of them runs badly, it's still worth it just to support linux sales.

As a matter of fact there were DRM free Linux builds of Metro: Last Light Redux that were produced, but for whatever reason GOG.com did find them to be of a suitable quality to ship on their store:
QuoteWe encountered a number of technical issues while preparing our DRM-free Linux and Mac OS X versions and made the call to hold back the releases until we can be confident in the quality of our product. While we are trying to fix the problems, we cannot make any promises if and when the DRM-free versions will be ready.

Metro runs smoother on Linux than on Windows (Steam), but graphics can differ a little bit.

If you don't have This War of Mine, you MUST get it. It's an incredible game.
