It's seen a number of delays, along with repeated silence from the developer but it looks like Crazy Justice [Official Site] may finally arrive this month.

After promising daily updates almost two weeks ago and then going silent, the developer Black Riddles Studio today put out an update on Twitter which gave an estimated release date of "anywhere between 20th-30th of July".

They also posted a wordier update in their Discord Channel, which apologised for the poor communication. They also said their "sleeping index is dangerously lower than the recommended healthy amount" and said about how they're "grinding hard" to be able to finally make it this month. They claimed to have had some "unexpected bumps in the roads" (likely the Fortnite release on Switch—a lot of their marketing went around being the first BR game on Switch).

Also, they said they've expanded their team now so it's no longer just the two of them, with them working on a "proper studio with in-house developers".

They also posted this new video:

Personally, I'm still quite excited to finally have what looks like a proper Battle Royale game on Linux. While it is supposed to have more traditional game modes as well as single-player and co-op modes, I'm still interested mostly in the BR-style gameplay. It remains to be seen how they will handle the release, since I'm still seeing many of their backers not having a login for their website control panel (where they will get their Steam key). Hopefully all these issues will be solved shortly.

As far as we know, the Linux release will be available on the same day as the Windows version and they've even shown it running on Linux before. Could this be our answer to not having Fortnite? Not likely, but if it's reasonably fun then it could be a hit.

I have one good reason why it actually will release in that period. I will be way for all of it! :P

I'll be nice if it works as "hyped". However, I fear that especially the BR mode may have a few problems since I don't think I've ever seen a video that suggests they had a full scale test run.

There is no reason to believe them...time and time again they have come out with dates and then just go silence and miss them. Development takes time that is for sure... but you don't publically commit to dates and then go silent when you can't meet them. And you certainly don't start silencing those that question.

If it comes out great... I have lost interest now simply because of the loss of trust. If it comes out and the reviews are good I might get. I suspect they are going to have a tonne of networking issues

So it looks like they added in a mini map, jumping a secondary weapon and building that's looking very much closer to fortnight. so they have pushed back release to try and clone another game pretty much.
Hey maybe everyone will get lucky and they will release the BR component of the game for free and have a monthly battle pass as well lol.

Gamedev is hard. I surely wish them best luck, even though they hit some heavy bumps on their road already.

It's good that it will be available on linux but I'm afraid it's too much like fortnite to attract anyone else.

This is amazing, this is so identical to Fortnite. I can't wait for this to come out and to play it.

Erm I hope the linux port plays well this is basically fortnite from the visuals to be honest I think its probably going to be doa on windows and switch but maybe it will be a hit on linux as its likely going to be the only native BR we get aside from Balistic overkill they are hyping a new mode and given how popular BR is am guessing its BR

The graphics are certainly a fortnite clone. The game seems to be completely unoriginal and seems to me to be a cash grab based on the success of fortnite. If they had their own original art style, then perhaps my opinion would be different.

Also, I strongly believe that fortnite will be coming to Linux AFTER the Android port. So there will be ZERO reason to play this game once the Linux port of fortnite is released.

FYI, there are over 125 million fortnite players. The up-front cost will prevent many people from even looking at this game let alone forking over the money especially when fortnite is free.

It's strange how people assume Fortnite was the first to do cartoony graphics, or the first to do Battle Royale...

I don't agree with the lawsuit of PUBG vs Fortnite, but it's very clear Fortnite copied the core gameplay from PUBG.

There is no sign of Fortnite coming to Linux. If you're holding out for it, just dont.

As for Crazy Justice, it still seems quite different and unique. Characters have skills, you can build but not destroy buildings and different game modes - battle royale with skills is supposed to be just one of them.

The cash and grab things appears to be at least partially true. The 100 player BR mode was never supposed to be in the game. The Fig campaign was about something smaller with a single player campaign. Not a stretch to see that the addition was in response to the Fornite success. I imagine that is probably one of the reasons for the delays. Adding stuff always takes more time than you think.
