What have you been playing and what are your thoughts?

It's been a while since I last asked and plenty of games have been released or updated since then. Let's get talking.

For me, the usual Rocket League has been played a lot recently. Especially with the new in-game event going on, the Spike Rush game mode (video) is a huge amount of fun and it's pretty ridiculous. Even the normal game modes continue to keep the game as my #1, it's gotten to the point where I'm attempting all sorts of insane goals. It's still free to try until tomorrow at 5PM UTC with a 50% off sale on Steam.

Plenty more Dota Underlords as well of course, I'm absolutely terrible at it but it's also stupidly engrossing. I like that I can quickly go for a toilet break or to grab a drink when needed, since you don't have to be at your PC during the battles if you have to run for a minute.

Apart from that, Eagle Island continues to pull plenty of my attention. Such a sweet game and really quite a challenge at times. I've especially enjoyed jumping into the Roguelite mode to continue playing after the story is all done.

I also let the mini-me try out Bastion, while it's not a game I personally enjoy as I find the narrator a little irritating, he seems to love it on the more casual game mode and he's getting surprisingly good at it.

Do let everyone know what you've been playing and if it's worth picking up in the comments.

Starcraft: Remastered, Starcraft and more Starcraft :D thru lutris, even more since they released the cartoon / carbot skin, its just lovely. And then when I'm too tired to play Starcraft, I play Overwatch with friends. Aaaand, I've tried out nuThief that I got in the Steam Sale, thru proton/steamplay, it crashed sometimes, but overall good performance, and if you turn all of garrets voicelines off and most of the HUD and play on hardest difficulty, its fun!

I've been mostly playing Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun for the last couple of weeks. I don't usually have the patience for stealth games but have really been enjoying this one. The controller scheme is really well thought out too, so I've been playing it on the couch through the Steam Link.

I also just got Baba is You last week, and am having a good time with that one as well.

Before that, Hypnospace Outlaw, which I just couldn't get into. I appreciate the alternate 90's Internet the devs created but I just don't feel motivated to progress the story.

I had no idea Hollow Knight is this good until last week. Haven't been much outside since...

Now I'm playing Eternal Card Game through SteamPlay (awsome TCG), Dota 2, and of course Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead, which is my all time favourite game.

Benn playing a bit of MORDHAU. Been having a bit of a run around trying to contrive a situation where my card stays below 75 degrees C while playing it in 2K. Think I finally figured it out -- moved the PC closer to the central air duct so that the intake is grabbing really cold air :)

I've been playing ISLANDERS and it's fantastic. A tight, minimalistic city builder with some interesting mechanics, but doesn't demand as much of your time and attention as something like Cities Skylines. The sort of thing you can play an hour or so, go do something else, then come back to it and keep on rolling.
