Retro racer Horizon Chase Turbo gets a big free Adventures game mode

By - | Views: 19,735

Horizon Chase Turbo is a very highly rated retro racing game from developer AQUIRIS and today it sees a huge free upgrade. This is to celebrate the 7th anniversary of the franchise.

If you've not played it before, it's directly inspired by a bunch of different classic racers from the 80s and 90s like Out Run, Lotus Turbo Challenge, Top Gear (SNES), Rush and plenty more. This is a straight to the point arcade racer with no extra fluff, just you and the track.

The Adventure game mode update will bring with it a series of five challenges available for each of the 34 cars in the game, totaling 170 different races to beat. You also get a new skin for each of the cars in the game, as a reward for completing each adventure.

Looks like there's some Midway's Cruis'n (USA|World|Exotica) games influence in the names of the cars too!

Exceptionally good game. I usually hate racing games, but this one is pure gold.

Used to love Lotus Turbo Challenge on the Amiga. This sounds like a good reason to install Horizon on my SD.

I bought the game yesterday, it's currently 75% off on steam, and it's a blast! Finally a racing game I'm not total crap at!
