By - | Views: 18,322

Another update is now available for the Steam Deck with a Client Beta, fixing up some annoying issues people keep finding and reporting to Valve.

Here's what's changed in the November 28th Beta:

General:

  • Fixed size of content in Update news dialog when running with Windows text scaling >100%
  • Fixed lock screen PIN reset process to not show PIN entry screen upon Steam Deck restart
  • Fixed crash when touching gift or new inventory item notification
  • Fixed "show password" toggle to show/hide the password.
  • Fixed On Screen Keyboard no longer showing when requested by the game or Proton

Steam Input:

  • Fixed rumble for Switch Pro Controllers attached over USB

Is there a bug that's particularly annoying for you right now? Let me know in the comments.

Also, here's some footage from Warhammer 40,000: Darktide that officially releases on November 30th:

I'm surprised to see Warhammer 40k: Darktide running on Steam Deck. I was part of beta test and it didn't even launched. They even officially said that Steam Deck is not supported in Beta. But it seems it works now. Another game to add to wishlist :-)

Regarding touchscreen they should improve precision, it's always a (significant) bit off to the lower right. Often enough i hit the wrong button or pick the wrong object when using it. Or is it just for me? Are my fingers doing weird things I'm not aware of?

Or is that already better in the beta? I'm using the stable branch.

Particularly annoying is the onscreen keyboard randomly sending a return keypress on the first R2 press with trigger clicks enabled.
Waiting for a short bit before typing does not seem to make a difference, in the latest client updates it is better but not fixed.
With the inability of using modifier keys with it and closing and opening it for such input, herein rolling the dice again, using it is more annoying than it should be.
Especially after having gotten good enough with it to not need a physical keyboard even for writing walls of text,
his frequently happens.
