Inventory management roguelike Backpack Hero releases 1.0 in May

Currently in Early Access with Native Linux support and rated Steam Deck Playable, the inventory management roguelike Backpack Hero is releasing in full in May.

This is actually a surprising amount of fun thanks to the inventory sorting mechanic, and something I didn't expect to really like overall originally but it clearly won me over easily when I first started with it. The way it's designed really keeps you constantly thinking about all of your equipment, since the position in your bag is key and can really affect your power. Plenty of others agree since it has a Very Positive rating on Steam too.

Now the developer has announced they plan to have a 1.0 release in May along with major upgrades. Some of what's coming to it include a big Town Update adding in some more depth, Twitch integration and more.

This game is an absolute joy. I poured probably around (guessing) 40 or so hours into it when it was on Itch as a freebie. Insta-bought on Steam and I've played another 20 hours there, as new characters and items were added. Can't get enough of it, tbh - it's got that compulsive "just one more go" to it, up there with Ring of Pain, Monster Train or Brotato, with a hint of Dicey Dungeons. Truly excellent.
