Valve seemed to let slip a bit early that they plan to sell refurbished models of Steam Deck for cheaper prices but the store pages were quickly hidden.
The store pages that appeared noted the Steam Decks were "Certified Refurbished" but now the store pages just redirect to the Steam home page. It was just long enough for SteamDB scraping to capture them though, much I'm sure to Valve's annoyance each time SteamDB manages to help everyone get a little peek behind the curtain:
Here's the expected prices:
- Steam Deck 64 GB - Certified Refurbished: $319 / £279
- Steam Deck 256 GB - Certified Refurbished: $419 / £369
- Steam Deck 512 GB - Certified Refurbished: $519 / £459
It should go without saying though: until Valve put it up officially, this might not actually happen.
When I hear any more I will let you know but this could be a great way to snap up a true bargain for such a versatile gaming system. Seems like a great idea for Valve to do officially from their store too, as no doubt they have plenty of them ready for people.

If it were some random repair shop or company doing the refurbishing then I would completely agree.
But if Valve themselves are doing it, I would expect them to put all the components through the same testing done during the manufacturing process. But I could be wrong.

I thought the same. I just bought a new (refurbished) Google Pixel 6 Pro for £260, just under half the price of a brand new one.
At these prices, I wouldn't consider it - I'd be looking closer to £320 as reasonable for the 512 model.
