Developer studio Chasing Carrots say they're "closing in on the finale" for the fantastic Halls of Torment, which blends a classic Diablo style with Vampire Survivors-like gameplay for a great mix.

The latest update is out now adding in plenty of performance improvements, so it should run better than before. But there's also a bunch of new content added for people who have played for a while. This includes the Chambers of Dissonance, the next stage that can be unlocked by defeating the Twisted Construct in Frozen Depths that comes with its own quest board and music track.

On top of that there's also a new projectile focused character named Landsknecht that has an arquebus and magic grenades, who can be unlocked in the new Chambers of Dissonance. Another new character was added, Sage, whose main weapon is the first ability you choose at the beginning of a run.

There's also new abilities like the Morning Star, a physical projectile/melee ability that gets a damage buff with force and Spectral Fists ability which is a directly attacking summon ability. Lots of smaller changes too like new quest icons, the HUD shows if you have auto attack and/or auto aim enabled or not, bug fixes and so on.

You can buy it on Steam. It has Native Linux support and is Steam Deck Verified. It gets a firm recommendation from me.

Might have to give this another go. After getting Soulstone Survivors and Greedland I’ve not played this again

I already have around 60 hours on it. Looking forward to go back to Halls of Torment, especially when there is something new to explore :-)

Tried the Demo but I'm enjoying more the Deep Rock Galactic Survivor as my hordelike of choice lately. I think the mechanics hooked me up more than the ones of Halls Of Torment that seem to be more similar to other games on this genre.
