By - | Views: 30,363

Aspyr Media are busy! Not long after launching Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, they've now announced the STAR WARS: Battlefront Classic Collection and it's coming with Steam Deck support.

Releasing March 14th it, the official Star Wars announcement mentioned clearly "Steam users will also enjoy Steam Deck support." and Valve has already set it as Steam Deck Verified — so clearly there's been plenty of early testing on this one.

Quite a nice sounding bundling of games here as you get the original Star Wars Battlefront (2004) and Star Wars Battlefront II (2005) with online play for up to 64 players, expansions to the Hero Assault mode and all previously released bonus content.

Interesting. Last time I tried to play BF2 classic on Deck I had to configure gamepad bindings in-game for every single action and the lack of auto aim made it a pain to play. Maybe I missed an update? O.o

I cannot find any info about cross play, which is a must I think.

I wish they'd just update the originals instead of re-releasing them :(. It makes sense for consoles that didn't have these games in the first place but I only have BF2 on Steam.

Oh nevermind my dumb ass confused the deck verified for the "new" classic with the old 😅

Alright, I know the drill, buy the original versions before they get delisted in case there's something new that's wrong with the re-release/remaster either on a technical polish level, an artistic level, breaks old mods, or even simply adds unwanted DRM/Anticheat, as tends to be the case.

I looked in the third party EULA for this game... and it has a section for mods mentioning Mod.IO... i genuinely hope this game has native modding support.

Quoting: GuestThey stole a mod from the creator and added it to this pack. It was to add controller support I think. Now the mod creator is super mad. Would not buy for scummy business practices.
Assajj ventress and kit fisto? the mod creator is actively reaching out to use the updated mod instead... and even then we aren't certain if it is their mod until we data mine the game when it releases.

What do I get if I rented the second game from Blockbuster a few times?

A piece of string, two buttons, and some out-of-date chewing-gum.
