PUNKCAKE Délicieux just added Linux support to a whole bunch of games

PUNKCAKE Délicieux are a game dev duo that release small fun games around once a month, and they've just now given all of their available titles the Linux (and macOS) treatment. They've made some pretty fun games looking at the list so you may want to go and check out a few of these.

One game you might have heard of is Shotgun King: The Final Checkmate, a rather unique strategy roguelike based on Chess, but you replace your army with a shotgun. A game I covered back in 2022 when run through Proton and it was a blast.

They've made many more recent games too, but you should definitely give that one a go as it has my personal recommendation.

Other games they've made include their newest release this month with Stray Shot, which is a small arena shooter with a good few twists that looks like some great chaos: "This is a unique twin-stick arena shooter where your own actions define the difficulty. Shoot recklessly at the walls and you will drown in enemies, but shoot too little and you will have a mediocre score. Observe the different monsters's behaviours and be strategic in the way you fight them. The more monsters there are in the arena, the more points you get for each one defeated."

You can find all their games on:

itch.io

Steam

Most of the games are discounted right now across both stores, and there's a bundle of them on itch.io to celebrate.

Always great to see this. 🐧
Stray Shot has a cute trailer. Don't think I've ever seen a trailer end with "You know what? Fuck this game!"

They use their own internal engine called SUGAR (not publicly available): https://trasevol-dog.itch.io/sugar

So I presume all their game using it got updated.
