Unlike Valve who confirmed again recently they are waiting for a generational leap for a Steam Deck 2, AYANEO are doing yet another handheld with the AYANEO 3.

A few days ago AYANEO put up a press release full of fancy marketing wording like how it's a "revolution in AYANEO's product definition, changing gamer's imagination of handheld consoles" and that it's "not only a technological leap, but also a completely new concept, which to some extent foreshadows the future possibilities of handheld devices".

The marketing speak continues with zero actual details on, well — anything at all really. They're really hyping this one up though claiming it "symbolizes the new direction of gaming handheld" and that the "future has arrived". Okay then. Whatever you say.

Obviously it will ship with Windows, just like all their previous handhelds, but it likely won't be too long after release until it's supported by the likes of the popular SteamOS alternative Bazzite which supports lots of different handheld gaming PCs. AYANEO did try for Linux once, and then promptly backtracked on that.

What to expect? Good question. Most likely is AYANEO adding in the latest generation of AMD chips inside to give it another boost in performance. Aside from that? Well their marketing lingo makes it sound like it might have a new shell design. Who knows, I guess we'll find out soon won't we.

Maybe they will include a steering wheel and pedals.

Bold claims. While the "revolution" part is probably gonna be debatable, it might still be interesting.
It makes it at least sound like there is slightly more than just the latest APU. But it could also be relatively boring like "the first handheld to support AutoSR" or something.

A 40-second video that can be summed up in four words: "Ayaneo 3, coming soon". Bizarre marketing. Ultimately, it's not going to be running Linux, so I have zero interest in it.

Edit: I've just read the press release. Good lord. Absolute word soup.

They are, apparently, "Teconstructing Imagination" (sic), with a "technological leap", a "completely new concept" and an "evolution in thinking", changing the "way we interact with games", enabling an "unprecedented level of immersion anytime, anywhere". It represents a "reconstruction" of handheld gaming to become your "gaming universe". This will "carry deeper emotions" and remove the "boundaries of gaming devices". Ananeo 3 is apparently a "new starting point", creating a "brand new space for free experience".

Wow.

Yeah, some "AI" stuff is probably a given, I expect them all to start doing it.

I bet it’ll just be a gamepad with the latest ryzen „ai“ chip and, drumroll, wireless display glasses.

I think there's a high probability AI wrote that entire marketing "release". Already we're in the future of innovation!
