ACTION GAME MAKER, the upcoming game making toolkit from Gotcha Gotcha Games (RPG Maker series) are exploring Linux support now. The tool is currently scheduled to release on Steam on June 17th.

Much like their previous tools, the idea is you don't need to write out lines of code. They say it "provides access to professional level functions without any programming required", with their previous game making kits being very popular tools. Their previous tools include Pixel Game Maker MV, RPG Maker MV, RPG Maker MZ, RPG Maker VX, RPG Maker 2000 and so on.

In an update posted on Steam they said:

Linux Editor Support

Due to a large number of requests, we have been testing both running the ACTION GAME MAKER editor on Linux as well as testing the Linux export function. As the tests are not finished yet, we will update everyone as soon as our testing is finished.

However, we have confirmed that Wine or Proton can be used to run the Windows build on Linux without issue. Regardless, use of the Windows build on Linux is outside of official support – so proceed with caution!

This time around, it shouldn't hopefully be too difficult for them, since they're using Godot Engine which is cross-platform and open source.
