Killing Floor 3 was originally due to release in March, but feedback was pretty bad from their Beta and so they delayed it to rework various parts of it. Now, it's set for launch on July 24.
They've been regularly detailing the enhancements to the game across Steam and social media, so hopefully this will make it a good release. Would be a shame for the series to go downhill for the third game after the first two were much loved by players.
“Since delaying the launch of Killing Floor 3, we’ve dedicated the additional development time to responding to the community’s feedback, ensuring the next chapter in the much-loved cult action/horror franchise lives up to our shared vision,” said Bryan Wynia, Creative Director at Tripwire Interactive. “The support from our fans has been incredible, and with the new July 24th release date in sight, we're thrilled to bring that vision to players not just at launch, but through the continued support of new features and content that is a hallmark of our studio.”
More about it:
Killing Floor 3 is the next installment in the legendary co-op action/horror FPS series. The year is 2091, 70 years after the events in Killing Floor 2, and megacorp Horzine has produced the ultimate army: an obedient horde of bio-engineered monstrosities called Zeds. Now, the only thing standing between these infernal creations and the future of humanity is the rebel rogue group known as Nightfall. This intense first-person shooter puts players in the role of a Nightfall specialist, joining forces with up to five teammates as they battle through a war-ravaged, dystopian future, surviving unrelenting waves of Zeds, unlocking new skills, and building the ultimate arsenal.
Are you planning to pick this one up? From the Beta, it did seem to run just fine on Desktop Linux with Proton. On Steam Deck on Low details, the Beta did manage mostly 30FPS too but it did not look good at all.
