Open source evolution sim Thrive version 0.8.3 brings in some more customization in how you play, along with new additions to the gameplay. Just like playing the early stages of the classic game Spore, except with a lot more science behind it.

Now when you start a game you can actually tweak even more of it with planet customization, some of which can drastically change your play-through. Control things like world size, temperature, oceanic coverage, geological activity, climate instability and more options are planned to be added.

They've also added a set of achievements, various refinements to balancing and the Multicellular Stage prototype has seen some love too. On top of that they've added a new hydrogenosome organelle, a microbe movement ripple effect and more.
