Alien: Rogue Incursion Evolved Edition from Survios releases on September 30th and ahead of release Valve rated it Steam Deck Verified / SteamOS Compatible.

This was originally a VR-only game simple called Alien: Rogue Incursion, which is now titled Alien: Rogue Incursion VR. that was released in December 2024. Now it's being remade for flat-screens so that everyone can get in on the action, even if you're on a handheld. A great time for it to release, with Alien: Earth seeing the last episode release next week (which has been a great show in my opinion).

Made for Alien fans. Built for action-horror. Re-envisioned for PC.

Play as rogue Colonial Marine Zula Hendricks in the terrifying first chapter of a two-part saga set between the Alien and Aliens films. Sent to investigate a distress call on the remote planet Purdan, Zula uncovers a secret Weyland-Yutani blacksite overrun by deadly Xenomorphs.

Stalking, hunting, and attacking at every turn, these Xenomorphs' ferocity is matched only by their unpredictability. Aided by your synth companion, Davis 01, fight and survive using your weapons, skills, and sheer determination against a deadly Xenomorph incursion in this gripping original story.

Rebuilt for PC with stunning visuals, 60 fps, 3D audio, haptic feedback, and adaptive triggers, Alien: Rogue Incursion Evolved Edition delivers a cinematic action experience that makes you truly feel like you’re inside the world of Alien.

I should note, that this is only Part 1 and ends on a cliffhanger. Back when the VR version released, they failed pretty badly on the marketing and had to release a statement as it being only the first part was a surprise. Their prior communication on it was pretty poor. If you know it's an episodic game, it should have always been advertised as such. Anyway, hopefully the main PC release goes well so they do actually finish the next part - I would love a new proper Alien game.

Wow, the animations in this are top-drawer, really impressive. I have fond memories of Alien:Fireteam, and while this is single-player, I'm still sold. It's been ages since a good Alien-franchise game landed!

Ah dang, haven't completed the VR version yet. Nice to see they also give the opportunity to play this game for non VR players and even (Linux powered) PC gaming handheld gamers.
I'm thinking about re-buying it even... I'd appreciate if they would give a discount for owners of the VR version though.

3070 + Valve Index?

How's it running in VR on a 3070 emoji

Maybe I'll check it out this weekend now my Bigscreen Beyond 1 is finally working with 580 NVidia driver!

Is this meant to be a improvement over the VR version of the game or basically just same thing?

You know, looking at the premise it suddenly hit me that we've been missing a key feature of the aliens' biology. They've evolved to be parasitic on stupid corporate executives. Their mix of oh-so-impressive-and-deadly characteristics are crap for long term integration into any given planetary ecosystem, but perfect at hypnotizing corporate morons into thinking "We could use that horrifying destructive power!" and giving them rides to new places to breed.

@posthum4n: I'm not even playing it on my main desktop with the 3070, but instead on either my gaming notebook (i9 9900k RTX 2080 mobile) or on my ROG Ally + egpu (6850m XT). There are some things to consider.
For the 2080m + Index I need to use driver 550, as async reprojection is having issues in drivers after that, even up to driver 580. But with 550 driver and even Monado instead of Steam VR async reprojection works well. I tinkered around with the ingame settings:
- Scaling 0.8 or 0.9
- Anti-Aliasing to FXAA
and the settings on the bottom of the page, where you can set the target framerate, which I have at 72.
Rest can be set to epic even, it doesn't affect the framerate much.

With these settings it's well playable for me.

As you are depending on the 580 driver for the Big Screen Beyond, you'll probably have to tinker with the settings, so it doesn't drop much below 90 FPS or the stutters might become annoying. This is only an issue with wired headsets on nVidia.

When using Steam Link VR (which requires nVidia 575 at least), stutters are no issue, as async reprojection happens in the (e.g. Quest) HMD. But that doesn't help of course with the Big Screen Beyond.

@TheRiddick: This pancake version has some improvements for the non VR gameplay, yet, basically it is the same game though.

A non-VR version of their Westworld game might be interesting as well.
