October 25 reminder - GamingOnLinux needs your support

It's getting chillier over here as we head into October! Here's a reminder that GamingOnLinux is funded directly by readers and we need you!

Earlier in July we crossed over 16 years in operation and the gaming industry seems to just be speeding up. The GamingOnLinux inbox is constantly overflowing with games big and small. Not everything makes it through, as there's only so many hours in a day. What a nice problem to have eh?

If you wish to support the continued news on GamingOnLinux and ensure we stick around, the best way is monthly support via Patreon. In the age of increasing paywalls, AI scraping articles, search engines expanding their AI to stop you visiting sites like this and other changes to the internet as we know it — your direct support is absolutely vital. We cannot do it without you!

Funding GamingOnLinux ensures we can continue to work on providing timely news, opinions, reviews, guides and whatever else we can throw at you full time.

All other donations, without any special rewards can be done by:

You can also buy games using GamingOnLinux affiliate / partner links:

I thought Humble Bundle stopped their referral program? In any case, seems like that link is not working for me, it may require third party cookies in the browser?

is there any chance of using alternative payment options?
there is a co-op that relatively few people seem to use, but they seem to be good people - https://comradery.co/ [External Link]
many leftish people seem to use ko-fi for one time donations
i would rather not give money to patreon or paypal

No plans for other payment options right now. Each additional option adds more admin and taxing overhead that just takes up more time.

You're doing great work! May I ask why no G2A as refferal? Too controversial and shady?

Will never partner with the likes of G2A because of their history, I prefer to push people towards trusted legit sources.

Liam I know you're probably sick and tired of hearing this, so it's the last time I'll ever mention it, (and sorry in advance please forgive me lol)

I really do think you're leaving money on the table by not having a subscription option built into the site itself. People may not have a patreon account, or an account on any of the other options as well. The friction of having to go to another site, and sign up there and input payment details and connect to here is nothing to dismiss.

I know it'd be more work for you, but I feel like it'd generate a lot more income and the extra work would be worth it. You could do all the different levels bronze silver gold (whatever) and have them have different prices and different rewards, etc.

That's it! I've said my piece. I'll never bring it up again.
