Talking point - what have you be playing recently?

Hello GamingOnLinux readers! It's time again to open up the floor as they say so jump into the comments and give your latest recommendations.

I don't think I really need to talk much more about what I've been playing, because it's quite obviously ARC Raiders whenever I get the chance to. I now have somehow lost 45 hours of my life to this thing, to the point where I've been dreaming about running through it. How wild. This is also another great excuse to show off some more cool screenshots I took during my runs of it. You might have spotted the dance party me and a few other random groups had in the recent Proton Experimental update article too.

ARC Raiders is just screenshot bait quite often, it really does some fantastic things with lighting and world-building that I keep coming across things thinking "oooh cool!", and then bang — dead. Another raider comes over to take everything from me, although I went in with a free loadout. Hah, sucker! Enjoy your nothing!

Here's a few snaps a took recently:

Apologies to the partner, they had to buy a copy because I'm so hooked on it. But hah, now they are too!

ARC Raiders is doing some impressive numbers on Steam too, hitting an all-time peak player count of 462,488 recently. That's a lot, especially when you consider it's a multi-platform game. It's been beating the likes of Battlefield 6 and Rust, even coming pretty close to the constant player count of PUBG.

So, what have you been playing lately (and why isn't it ARC Raiders?).

I've been playing [The Séance of Blake Manor](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1395520/The_Sance_of_Blake_Manor/), which is a great supernatural detective mystery. The only issue I have with the game is the time mechanic, though I can see why it's important. Recommended 8/10.

Also on my playlist has been [Serious Sam 2](https://store.steampowered.com/app/204340/Serious_Sam_II/), which looks quite nice with the remaster (though still with some blocky textures). No deserts encountered so far, so it's all good :-)

On the Steam Deck I'm fighting my way through the Resident Evil Series right now: I have already played RE1 Remaster, RE2 and RE3 Remakes, RE4 (not the Remake) and RE5. Currently, I'm in the last campaign of RE6, and I also plan to play RE7 and RE8 after that.

On the PC I'm playing the Battlefront 2 campaign, which is surprisingly good. The EA app sucks though...

Arc Raiders is on my wishlist, and I think I will end up buying it after all. I'm really happy that the game does so well, mainly because (right now) it is playable on Linux. But as long as there is no rating from Valve or some kind of official statement regarding Linux compatibility, my wallet will remain closed.

Solo: Timberborn, AoE2, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Against the Storm
Coop: Journey to the Savage Planet, Dead Island Riptide, Satisfactory
I've been having to stop myself from playing more Stellar Blade I love the game too much and was playing it for like half the summer so I've been playing Clair Obscur and a bit of Final Fantasy VII Remake on my PS5 Pro. Over this year I've found out that I play my games more on my PS5 Pro, I think I just like to play games on my TV more then my Computer monitor.

On my computer I've been playing Borderlands 4 with my friends. I really like the movement in the game, but the game likes to not register bullet hits so you can wasted an entire magazine into someone and nothing happens, and some gun manufactures just feel awful now mainly Maliwan. I've been trying to get my friends to play Monster Hunter Wilds again since the Final Fantasy cross over is here and everyone wants to do it but they just keep pushing back when we play. Started playing Smite 2 with my one friend some more after like 1 month or 2 of not playing do to lack of god variety for me but Eset being added to the game makes me want to play again having something new since the last new/ported god I play came out 8 months ago.

Back to the PS5 Clair Obscur is really fun I love the combat every fight feels like you always have a shot no matter how hard it is as long as you can keep up. Tho that does make me play the game a bit less then I like because of how much I have to focus to win fights. The music is really good. My friend hates that (Story Spoiler)
Spoiler, click me
Gustave Died and is just like I don't care about this story anymore I want Gustave.
One fight took me 2 hours because I had to keep up perfect parries for 10 or more minutes for each attempt. According to PlayStation I'm about 57% done so still have a bit to go, looking forward to see what will happen. I've only played 2 hours of Final Fantasy VII Remake but I'm liking. It being an Unreal Engine 4 Game feel similar to Stellar Blade to me in terms of how the character looks makes the game feel familiar/safe to me. Don't really have anything else to say about it yet, just that I guess it show my addiction to Stellar Blade.

I just want to talk about Stellar Blade now. I don't exactly know why I'm so addicted to it. Its the first game I've done a new game+, I've almost 100% the game something I haven't done since I was like 12, I have over 150 Hours in it and I want to keep playing more even tho its pretty linear. I love all the characters, Eve gaining confidence though out the story, D1G-g2r is so cute love how he wants to find out why he has sentience. The Sound track is so good I would just sit and listen to it at camp or running around the desert and wastelands. The space elevator section has such a grand feel climbing all the way into space with the music backing up that feeling perfectly. Hyper tubes are really fun to surf down wish there were more of them. The Nikke DLC stages are really fun wish there was more then 5, makes me want to play Nikke just to get more like it but then I remember its a mobile game and don't want to deal with mobile game mechanics. Uh I wish I was good at writing I'm missing so much stuff but can't figure out how to write it down.

Warframe for the most part, 1000h in on Nobara Linux. 40k:Darktide, 40k:Rogue Trader, Path of Exile 1 & 2, Last Epoch. That's pretty much my year of gaming covered :D
Latest ones being Ball x Pit, Megabonk and started Sworn just now.
Forza Horizon 5 is the only one I'd like to play, but it just doesn't start properly every time and requires a re-install at times...Also sucks that moving my profile from Gamepass is nearly impossible. In my case, moving the profile broke my controls for some reason.

Lately I've been playing some modded Terraria with the Archipelago randomiser, it's been quite fun. I have been also meaning to continue my Cyberpunk 2077 playthrough, but I keep getting distracted by real-life things..

With my SO, we have been playing a lot of Heroes III of Might & Magic (through [VCMI](https://vcmi.eu/) ), with [Horn of the Abyss](https://heroes.thelazy.net/index.php/Horn_of_the_Abyss) and [In the Wake of Gods](https://heroes.thelazy.net//index.php/In_the_Wake_of_Gods) extensions, and it's a blast emoji

Also been playing Half-Life at lunch time with my colleague...

Forza Horizon 5 and Jurassic World Evolution 3, but recently I got the urge to play some more classic PC games from the 2000s. I'm ordering some (used CDs) for my birthday and see if I can get them to run. Ahh, the nostalgia! emoji Those were the good old days when ownership was still a thing
