Framework Computer BV have announced a nice big expansion of their sponsorship program with many open source events and Linux distributions benefiting from it.
In a blog post originally posted October 14th, they detailed a few different events they were sponsoring along with projects like GNOME and LVFS. In an update to the post from December 3rd, they've detailed a whole lot more that have been receiving handouts bringing the total Framework has put out during 2025 to over $225,000.
As per the post this is the current list of who Framework are sponsoring in open source land:
It's nice to see another company put their money where their mouth is. Lots of companies talk about openness and the like, but many don't bother to support all the projects they make use of. For Framework, it seems perfectly fitting for them to get on board with more open source with the nature of their modular open hardware.
But they try.
And mostly succeed.
I might just be blinkered there though. I suspect Gnome still has a huge mindshare, probably as a combined result over decades of Ubuntu and Fedora.
Unfortunately they lost quite some people that now thinks that framework is fine with sponsoring fascists :/
@numerfolt do what now? Can you link me to some info? Oh it's the hyprland/omarchy toxic communities. I have never been there or spent any time with either, so I have no personal experience but from what I've read: they can F right off and I know for sure I won't be using either ever.

Quoting: NumerfoltUnfortunately they lost quite some people that now thinks that framework is fine with sponsoring fascists :/Some people are generally not missed after they are "lost".
Those who will call others all kinds of names for having a differing opinion from theirs, even the most lukewarm of differences (such as "maybe don't try to push a political ideology through entirely unrelated software?"), are very high on that list of "won't be missed".
In the end, Framework seems to be doing just fine, so all that is just the usual tempest in a teapot social media brainrot.
