Microsoft recently did their latest Xbox Developer_Direct event with the 2026 edition giving us a new look at multiple games and new release dates. Thankfully, we'll be seeing Steam releases for all the main games noted and so we should be able to play them all on Linux / SteamOS systems thanks to Valve's Proton.

Here's your info at a glance to keep you up to date.

The new Fable got an Autumn 2026 release window. Microsoft also did their own interview going over a lot more details about it on top of showing off a teaser:

Forza is one that could have issues on Linux systems.

As we saw from previous releases that Forza Horizon 5 works on Linux but Forza Motorsport doesn't. Hopefully there won't be any weirdness for this one with Proton on Linux.

Beast of Reincarnation is the upcoming title from GAME FREAK inc. (the Pokémon developer) and it's set to release Summer 2026.

The trend to "reboot" franchises needs to die already. At this point, it's just a lazy attempt to capitalise on nostalgia for a past success.

That aside, the Fable reboot is developed by the same guys as Forza (at least those that weren't fired) and will use the same engine. Sounds odd to me but we'll see.
