Your train is your deck in Fogpiercer, with an updated demo available in Steam Next Fest this is a turn-based strategy game worth your time.
An on-rails (literally) sci-fi roguelike deckbuilder, where your position is the most important thing. Your cards are your actions and you can even use your train and your weapons to shunt enemies into cliffsides, various obstacles and each other for some fun chaos.
How it works: you pick a location from a node-based map, each with a different type of combat encounter and various possible rewards. There's also various types of depots where you can repair, upgrade cards and modules or pick a new train module. Combat is turn-based and it's all about your meticulous planning here. You have limited turns, and limited action points per turn to get everything just right.
Part of the fun is the combinations that end up happening when you force an enemy to move, where they end up smashing through multiple other enemies. Or if you manage to get them to shoot each other which is always helpful. It's a challenge though, especially early on when you only have the basic cards and train modules, so you really do need that careful planning to force enemies into the right tile.

Made with Godot, it has a Native Linux build available that works great. The demo lets you pick from two drivers – Monica and Pan – each with their own set of cards and special abilities, to lead the journey across the wasteland, using any combination of up to four carriages in an action-packed struggle against bandits, bad weather, and even a boss or two.
A very interesting twist on deck-building with some challenging combat encounters and fun upgrades.
