KOMODO announced over the weekend that the Steam Deck OLED is getting a price increase across Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan.
In a short post they said: "Due to increased logistics costs and shifting exchange rate conditions that have persisted since the initial launch of Steam Deck, KOMODO has made the difficult decision to raise the price of Steam Deck OLED in Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan."
The new pricing:
| Region | Old Price (512GB) |
New Price (512GB) |
Old Price (1TB) |
New Price (1TB) |
| Japan | JPY 84,800 | JPY 99,800 | JPY 99,800 | JPY 114,800 |
| South Korea | KRW 839,000 | KRW 898,000 | KRW 989,000 | KRW 1,048,000 |
| Taiwan | TWD 18,880 | TWD 18,980 | TWD 21,980 | TWD 22,480 |
Hong Kong is not getting a price increase as it has been "less impacted by these factors".
Given all the issues Valve has seen with stock shortages of the Steam Deck OLED elsewhere, it will be interesting to see if Valve directly decide to raise their prices. We've not heard anything on that yet though. All three models of the Steam Deck in the UK are in stock, with Canada / USA currently still out of stock and checking in the EU via Poland they're also completely out of stock still.
