It has been confirmed today that STAR WARS: Galactic Racer is set for launch on October 6th, and you can pre-purchase it now too.
From the press release: "Star Wars: Galactic Racer invites race fans to join the Galactic League, an unsanctioned racing circuit born in the lawless Outer Rim of the Star Wars galaxy. Step into the cockpit as mysterious pilot Shade in a thrilling singleplayer campaign where alliances will be forged, rivalries reignited, and old grudges will be settled. Experiment with your build strategies across three distinct styles of repulsorcraft to create your ultimate vehicle. Get behind the controls of podracers and put your skills to the test in this iconic vehicle class. Take your talents online in exciting multiplayer races to prove yourself as an elite racing pilot. No Force. No prophecy. Just skill, strategy, and the will to rise.
All pre-orders of Star Wars: Galactic Racer will include a free bonus livery which can be used with your landspeeders, speeder bikes, or skim speeders, with a unique color for the livery depending on your pre-order platform. Additionally, all pre-orders will come with a free Player Banner background for use in multiplayer modes."

I will admit, I am quite excited about this. A properly modern Star Wars racing game that includes all sorts of vehicle types (yes, there's pod racing styled stuff too). I remember spending far too many hours on Nintendo 64, so I think I might have to get this.
The price for the standard edition seems reasonable too, well - reasonable enough considering the Star Wars name is attached to it at $59.99 / £49.99 / €59.99.
There was a bit of confusion about it having Denuvo, as a few days ago all mention of it was removed - so other news sites reported it as such. But, today it has been re-added to the Steam store page. So yes, it will have Denuvo Anti-Tamper which can be a nuisance on Linux / SteamOS.
Additionally, they recommend playing with a controller.
