ARC Raiders developers Embark Studios have given the game a fresh content drop, along with news about anti-cheat changes coming to the game.
Currently, it uses Easy Anti-Cheat with Anybrain machine learning, but they've announced that starting today (May 19) a gradual rollout of Denuvo Anti-Cheat will also be coming to ARC Raiders. They won't be using Denuvo DRM just the anti-cheat. Hopefully this won't cause any problems for Linux / SteamOS players, because it currently runs perfectly and is one of the few in the genre that works on Linux.
What's new in the patch:
- New Trader - Ermal.
- New Weapon - Rascal (Grenade Launcher).
- Mod Improvement: Extended Barrel.
- End of Round Changes.
- The Sandveil Set.
- Facial Hair Style - Sideburns.
- The Sheath Set will be available on June 2nd.
The new trader is an interesting one that will allow you to exchange high-value ARC materials and any stockpiled rare weapons for expanded stash space, Expedition Vault access and offer a weekly rotation of cosmetics, blueprints, raider tokens and gameplay progression items.
Other highlights:
- Fixed an issue where players would be teleported when standing on destroyed ARC parts.
- Reduced the power cost of Photoelectric Cloak from 10/s to 5/s.
- Weapon durability adjustments.
- Queen and Matriarch will now more often step over things than through them, reducing the amount of times players suffer unfair knockback.
- Added an option to block players after reporting.
See more in the patch notes.
Someone did a test where they would run to the edge of the map and sit and wait with an Equalizer with wall hacks on, and in the vast majority of matches, he could see people running all the way across the map in a straight line directly at him. Then he'd put the Equalizer into his Safekeeper safe pocket when they got close, and they kill him. Over and over again.
I will never understand what drives people to play games with cheats. It makes the game look like shit, too. I guess it matches their skill in that regard.
