Arrowhead Game Studios are finally going to give players a performance boost, in the form of some upscaling and other tech improvements on May 27th. The developers announced on Steam that they've been working with Nixxes to bring the long-awaited updates to all platforms.
With the update they said it's had a focus on "three primary pillars: stability, latency reduction, and advanced upscaling technologies - helping ensure performance stays consistent, even in the most demanding moments".
For players on PC this will include FSR 4.0.3, FSR 3.1.5, DLSS 4.5, and XeSS 3.0 support. Additionally they're adding in support for Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), Variable Rate Shading (VRS) and Dynamic Resolution Scaling (DRS). On top of all that they're also adding in support for NVIDIA Reflex and AMD Anti-Lag 2.
Hopefully some combination of those will at least alleviate some of the performance troubles some players have been experiencing with it.
A bunch of other fixes will also be coming, so we'll see what in the changelog when it arrives on May 27th.
Further out they're promising the updates will come coming with a "dedicated tech-focused update" coming sometime "this summer" to keep pushing things forwards.
All sounds pretty good!
