Planet Zoo 2 has now been officially revealed by Frontier Developments with pre-orders live for release on October 13th. The developers say that this big sequel will including both aquatic and flying species, alongside a deeper conservation focus.
What exactly is it? A building and management sim where you build your own zooes around the globe with various different animals.
In the press email they noted "Conservation in Planet Zoo 2 goes further than ever before. Zookeepers will take on conservation projects across the globe, revitalising expansive Wildlife Reserves and creating living ecosystems by releasing animals into their natural habitats. From ensuring animals are kept in habitats that mirror their natural environments to creating immersive spaces for zoo guests to interact and learn, Planet Zoo 2 offers players a meaningful management experience. From managing staff morale and training to constructing the perfect habitat, it’s vital for budding Zookeepers to balance guest satisfaction with animal wellbeing in order to boost their rating and ensure their zoo becomes a roaring success as it grows."

There will be more news and information to come for it during the Wholesome Games showcase on June 6th and the PC Gaming Show on June 7th.
At release it will cost £39.99 / $49.99 / €49.99 for the Standard Edition, and £54.99 / $64.99/ €64.99 for the Deluxe Edition. The Deluxe Edition includes an additional six animal species from across the globe, as well as a selection of exclusive animal signs to decorate parks with.
Due to all this frustration, every time I tried to play the game, I got turned off by the building system, which felt like an insurmountable wall on the way to my perfect park. The rest of the game is lovely - the animals are some of the best I've ever seen in a game - but it's just not fun to build when the learning curve is so crazy. The best zoo building game is still in my opinion, Zoo Tycoon 2 from 2004. Because it did all those things way better than Planet Zoo, and it had dinosaurs and marine animals which PZ completely lacks, despite being a 'spiritual successor' to it.
