The action in Pathogenic looks awesome, and playing as a lone parasite fighting against the immune system sounds pretty cool too. In a press email to GamingOnLinux the developer mentioned the idea was somewhat like EA's Spore meets The Binding of Isaac.

Developer Aberrant Labs with publisher Slug Disco just announced it's going to release on July 16th. It will have Native Linux support, and there's a demo available you can try right now that is getting updated for Steam Next Fest.

It's a twin-stick shooter that blends in roguelike mechanics where you loot, graft, and assemble your parasite from over 100 unique organelles and mutations. There's a huge amount of variety to it from summoning minions to spamming a barrage of bullets at your enemies and even melee abilities too. And of course since it's set inside a body the locations are suitably juicy including intestines, the heart and various other organs.
