As new releases are a little light today, and I'm really rather tired it's question time. What has been your biggest let down from a Linux game this year?
One of the things I do here is contact developers who promised a Linux version of a game which hasn't yet surfaced, and the latest user request for me to check was Moebius: Empire Rising.
A fellow on the official Steam forum for Divinity: Original Sin has been commenting to Linux users criticising the delay, and it's an interesting read.
A recent Polygon article that covered Valve's new hardware has some information from Valve, and it's not entirely clear, but it looks like Just Cause 3 could come to Linux.
This is starting to be a repeating joke now, of promise after promise and delay after delay. Now with the Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition that was supposed to be a day-1 release for Linux, it has also been delayed.
Jorge Castro from Ubuntu poked me recently to let us know that Ubuntu 15.10 has already been patched for the Steam Controller, and 14.04+ others will have a patch back-ported this week.
Thanks to me getting in touch with the Starbound developers, it seems a Valve rep has taken to reddit to explain what's going on with games having their SteamOS icon removed.
Recently we published an article about ASTRONEER coming to Linux, sadly it seems that I wasn't quite right. The good news is the developer seems like they really want to.
I'm pretty sad about this, as the last trailer for Broforce specifically mentioned Linux as a platform. Checking their Steam forum, it seems they haven't even begun to build and test it yet.
I'm really excited to try Magicka 2, as I thought the first one was quite fun. The developer has been keeping everyone up to date on progress in their Steam forum. Sadly, for AMD GPU users it looks like it won't run as well as on Nvidia hardware.
After the recent SteamDB info for Minecraft: Story Mode, we have some more interesting info to share. It seems one of the developers at Telltale is a Linux user, and wants to see the new Minecraft: Story Mode on Linux.
After CPU architect Jim Keller left AMD recently, Phil Rogers has now also left and joined up with Nvidia. Here's to hoping their Zen CPU line will bring them back into a nicer light.
I didn't expect to read this any time soon! Humble Bundle has laid off 12 people (20% of their staff) due to being over ambitious with their previous hiring.
