There's a lot that annoys me on Steam, and one major bit looks like it's getting a more watchful eye from Valve: Screenshots that aren't actually screenshots.

I wasn’t expecting the next big thing from ‘Sky Break’, but from the trailer I did expect a competent open-world sci-fi game. What I found was a shallow husk of a game, and not the polished fun experience I was hoping for.

'Prison Run and Gun' was a game I discovered because of an IndieDB giveaway, and I kept an eye on it since then. Considering it currently is on sale (60% off), I decided to finally try it. Apart from a particular but serious issue, I don't really have any reason not to recommend it.

Slayaway Camp is an isometric and sadistic puzzler where you play as a deranged psychopath who goes on a rampage at an isolated camp in the woods. Although there isn't an official demo available, you can find the free version of the game on Kongregate.

Natural Selection 2 is the RTS/FPS hybrid that's pretty damn fun and it has just been updated. You can now get a new game-mode from the Steam Workshop and the entire game is free to try all weekend.

In an announcement posted on the Steam store page of CHKN the day before yesterday, the developers of this strange but interesting sandbox game are celebrating a contest for Halloween. Basically, you need to create a monster and submit it before October 31st. There will be three winners.

If you're a bit low on funds, you might like to know that Steam is doing a 2016 Halloween sale with some nice Linux games on offer.
