At last! Users from Ubuntu 24.04 onwards that's scheduled to release on April 25th should hopefully see a smoother Linux gaming experience.

No this isn't a joke, sadly. Canonical once again have an issue with scam apps appearing on the Snap Store, which is becoming a repeating problem.

Not the first time this has happened, but recently the Snap store from Canonical hosted a scam bitcoin app that claimed to be "Exodus wallet" that caused a user to lose money.

Canonical announced some time ago their Steam Snap which was promoted as stable with Ubuntu 23.04, as they continue to push their own packaging format with Snap but it seems this has been causing problems for Valve.

While most people will be using a normal package for Steam on Linux or the Flatpak, Canonical continue pushing their own Snap packages and one that's needed a lot of work is Steam.

Good news for those looking to download Ubuntu Desktop 23.10, as the recent issue involving a hostile translation has been solved and so the downloads are up again.
