Wine 3.18 is out with subpixel font rendering and a healthy dose of bugs squashed

The next Wine [Official Site] development release is now available, so grab that corkscrew and your favourite glass.

As expected, the Wine team have been keeping the updates coming approximately every two weeks to show off what they've been working on. The progress over the course of this year has been pretty amazing.

Here's the highlights of what's new in the 3.18 release:

  • Subpixel font rendering with FreeType >= 2.8.1.
  • Support for OAEP algorithm in RSA encryption.
  • Array marshalling fixes in DCOM.
  • Improved DPI scaling in the Wine console.

As for bug fixes, they noted quite a few this time with 46 marked as solved. The usual applies though, some were fixed in earlier releases and only picked up now. As for this release, they fixed issues with Black Desert Online, EA Origin, multiple games crashed on the unimplemented function "kernel32.dll.GetQueuedCompletionStatusEx", Carmageddon: Max Damage and so on.

* Make an ABI-compatible change of the type of
slink:VkPhysicalDeviceDriverPropertiesKHR::pname:driverID to use the new

Internal Issues:

* Clarify for the <<features-features-shaderStorageImageExtendedFormats>>

disabled in vk.xml, and has now been enabled after some changes to fix
performance issues).
* `VK_EXT_pci_bus_info`
* `VK_EXT_transform_feedback`
* `VK_GOOGLE_hlsl_functionality1`, exposing support for
`SPV_GOOGLE_hlsl_functionality1`.
* `VK_GOOGLE_decorate_string`, exposing support for
`SPV_GOOGLE_decorate_string`.


Yeah new DXVK version will be stay for out in any moment without forget DX10 commits with allow runs bioshock 1 original on DX10 mode

According to Doitsujin it'll be 396.54.09. Takes quite a bit of work to make it work though. I'm sure Lutris will make sure it all happens though.

Kinda still waiting on the new(er) versions of Wine to get pulled into Proton. From what I understand, they're pretty good (recent) on DXVK but they're wayyyy behind on Wine.

Yep them add 396.54.09 but 410.xx series have onscreen indicator, still waiting 410.xx.xx vulkan series
