Okay, so a year or so ago, I found a pre-beta microbial evolution kind of game. It was made by a single guy (I think) and wasn't really working at the time. They compared it directly to Spore, but cross-platform and using real science.

Unfortunately, I can find no trace of said game on The Internetz any more.

I don't suppose anyone has a clue what I'm talking about???

I know exactly what you're talking about, I just can't remember the fucking name for the life of me. We did cover it here on GOL too.

Let's see, I've gotten these search hits that may be what you're looking for:

NOWHERE - A psychedelic RPG - https://www.gamingonlinux.com/articles/nowhere-launches-crowdfunding-with-alpha-access.2443

Sparkle 2 Evo - Control the evolution with the touch of your finger - https://www.gamingonlinux.com/articles/category/6/articles/sparkle-2-evo-on-steam.2632

Thanks for that, but it is neither of those.

After Liam's reply, I tried to search the site for he game and came up with nothing. :(

This is going to piss me off to no end until I find it.

It was quite simple graphically from what I remember.

That isn't it either, but that is certainly something to keep my eye on. :D

You know, I'm not sure if that's what I mean either.
They talk a lot about the science of the cellular stage and the 'new' website explains why it looks unfamiliar, but I was pretty sure that the game I'm thinking of was just one guy (he might have taken his PhD in biochemistry and turned it in to a game???

I'll certainly give Thrive a good look, though.
Liam Dawe Sep 12, 2015
Yeah not the game I was thinking of either, it was a small indie game.
JSVRamirez Sep 15, 2015
It isn't thrive :( although it is pretty cool.

The game I'm thinking of (I think) was made by just one guy. He had a website that looked like I'd made it in the 90s (there were only four or five pages) and there was a page where he directly compared it to Spore in terms of science, game-play and interaction etc...

The funny thing is I'm sure I know what you're on about, but can't for the life of me member it :(
