I have recently bought a G933 Wireless Headset and is working fine out of the box without any problems but with only Stereo and not 7.1 surround :(
I have tried some things but I didnt manage to make it work like my razer megalodon wired 7.1 Surround .

Logitech is providing surround only with their software in Windows so is like "fake/software" surround.

So now I am going to try and sell them out but in the meantime I am looking to buy some real 7.1 surround headsets.

Anyone knows any 7.1 headsets that are working under Linux?

My friend has some SteelSeries Siberia headset and he has all the options listed in pavucontrol... I do not know though if the support is real or it is just listed in the options.

I'm still waiting for Liam's response for creating some kind of a hardware section of the community where we could list all the devices and confirm their functionality :) It would be a great place to search for all of Linux-supported hardware when buying and for the newcomers that have not yet bought hardware but wish to...

From what I have found, there is no such thing as a surround headset. It's either real surround with extremely low quality drivers (due to lack of space). Or virtual surround, which is not guaranteed to work for all people. Apparently I'm not average and I have yet to find a virtual surround solution (either firmware or software) that works for me.

I've read somewhere that SteelSeries is planning to provide support for Linux as well (their software for controlling hardware that you bought from them), They just didn't provide any info on when it would be availible because we are still a small gaming market.
