Title: [fixed] Not setting an avatar in profile results in small square
Liam Dawe 27 Jan 2017
Shows up as a normal default avatar for me.

I'm using Chromium 56 on Arch

Can you inspect it and copy the image html code in full in a code tag here?
kilbith 27 Jan 2017
I guess it's that :

<img class="avatar" alt src(unknown)>

Does it work now? I've adjusted some code.
kilbith 27 Jan 2017
No, still the same.
Liam Dawe 27 Jan 2017
I'm using Chrome and it's fine. I've checked in Firefox and it's fine and I've just loaded Chromium 56 on here to test and it's also fine.

This leads me to believe it's your end, sorry to say. If this was a code issue, then everyone who hasn't set their avatar (a lot of people) should have said something by now.

Please test in a safe session with no plugins, something external is affecting it.

This is happening since recently. Few days ago I still had the penguin as default avatar.

The only plugin I use is uBlock Origin. I disabled it for checking and it's the same result. And I'm on a lightweight Arch environment.

So don't make assumptions too hastily...

What you posted in the code tag isn't even remotely valid and it's not something my code ever outputs into the tag. Again, the issue is for certain your end. I asked in the IRC and plenty of others confirmed it's fine for them.

Open an entirely new browser session without plugins and test.

Edit: Fenix in the IRC said it's a ublock issue.

OK so trust me or not, I did exactly that and guess what... same result.

Well, I'm afraid I can't help. It displays correctly my end in all browsers and on two different mobile devices, and the only other person to have the issue said ublock caused it and then managed to display it normally in a private session.

Okay, so massive apologies here as I've done some deeper testing as I wanted to be absolutely sure and I did find an issue! I was really confused on why this would happen, so I decided to do some more checks.

It should now be fixed. It was tricky, as it only actually showed if you where the person who didn't have an avatar set, heh.

Thank you for reporting and making GOL better, I really do appreciate it! :)

Please, in future, keep something entirely different in a new topic.

Edit: Steam and Twitter logins now correctly capture the stay logged in tickbox as they should be.

Yup, I confirm the issue is fixed now. Thanks for patching ;)

No problem dude, sincere apologies on thinking it was your end. It really did bug me you had an issue, so I made sure to look more than once and sleep on it before giving in :)
