I second Fran Bow for a horror experience.
Also if Dead Island gets a recommendation , I'd recommend Dying Light. Though not sure how well it works - think it was broken for AMD users not long ago.
Running from a horde at night desperately looking for a save point. Man those were the thrills :)

Ooh I forgot about Layers of Fear. Hopefully there are halloween sales coming up but I'll probably grab it anyway. It is a bummer that Ghost Theory never got funded since that is exactly my ideal game type for the season. And the only spoopy part of Gone Home was when
