Quoting: liamdaweI did as it was reported, i went to the site and it did say not available, IGS must have had a hiccup :(
It's certainly selling quite well, on par with Pid, IGS's latest hit. Maybe their servers were a bit overloaded...

Quoting: liamdaweI will look into the bug! I will also make it so we editors even if using the form on the page get auto-accepted on sales.
Great, thanks!
Liam Dawe 18 Apr 2013
Fixed adding sales from admin.
Liam Dawe 18 Apr 2013
Admins and Editors adding sales directly from game sales page should get auto accepted now.

I can confirm it works as I just published a new sale and it got automatically accepted. The only little thing I found is that I still got the same message as before, saying the submission will be reviewed and accepted. :P

When Adding, Editing or Accepting an article if you set it to "editor pick" and there are already 3 it will error out and tell you there's too many already.

Will work next on a cron job to remove editor picks after x time, any ideas on how long until I expire editor picks? 2 weeks?
Liam Dawe 19 Apr 2013
New stuff:
Allow adding an uploaded tagline image on news submission accepting. Finally.

When editors or admins ad sales from the sales page it won't tell you it's gone in the queue it will tell you it's been added!

Added desura, steam and website links into article comments for users to match the forum.

Thanks for everything Liam, but I'm afraid you must've messed up the sales.php file:

Quoting: Sales pageParse error: syntax error, unexpected T_IF, expecting '(' in /home/gamingonlinux/public_html/sales.php on line 11
Could you take a look at it please?
Liam Dawe 19 Apr 2013
My bad, fixed.
muntdefems 19 Apr 2013
Great! I've submitted a new sale, so everything works fine.

By the way, I've uploaded to Dropbox all the 110x110px game images I've used so far and I'll continue to do so with the future ones. Feel free to use them in case one of these games goes on sale again. Here's the link: [https://www.dropbox.com/sh/o1kbyd7boav8xfs/P3CfexTAC0/Sales?lst](https://www.dropbox.com/sh/o1kbyd7boav8xfs/P3CfexTAC0/Sales?lst) ;)

PS: How does the page resize images larger than 110x110? I've observed that they lose a lot of quality that way, compared with images previously resized with an external application (e.g. I scale them down with Gimp using Sinc (Lanczos3) interpolation, which gives the best results).
Liam Dawe 20 Apr 2013
It was compressing them down to 60%, I’ve upped it to 80 since the size of them should keep the file size down anyway :)
muntdefems 20 Apr 2013
I'm compressing mine at 100% with Gimp, and they never take more than 25Kb. I hope that's not too much...
Liam Dawe 25 Apr 2013
To editors - please whenever humanly possible include an image in news posts for when I post them onto G+ and Facebook, as they pick up images from posts and it makes people far more likely to check the news out.

Also remember a lot of people won't ever see the front page as they will be linked directly to the news so best practice is to generally include tagline text in the main post.
Liam Dawe 25 Apr 2013
Also now taglines cannot exceed 400 characters (including bbcode), should have done that ages ago but it's their now!

Updated all admin help texts on article add/editing/accept to reflect the changes.
muntdefems 25 Apr 2013
Edited the Aeon Command price drop article to include the price in Euro. :)
Cheeseness 25 Apr 2013
You mean we've got to come up with two images now? Have you considered putting the preview image into whichever meta tags G+ cares about instead of requiring it of editors?

If the guideline is to put the tagline text into main posts, why not just include that automatically?
Liam Dawe 25 Apr 2013
If you can find me the tags to use that would be a good solution.

I went through tagline stuff before, taglines are separate to make things easier.
Liam Dawe 25 Apr 2013
Okay I managed to do some digging and it should now be implemented so you can ignore the requirement of an image on all posts now :), all posts do require a tagline image though.

One thing I will ask from now on - No videos in taglines. I will be removing the code that picks out videos from taglines for the side images shortly.

Save videos for the actual main post please everyone. Speeds up the home page load time and makes it consistent for look and for G+ and Facebook grabbing the image.
muntdefems 25 Apr 2013
Totally agree with no videos on taglines.
Cheeseness 25 Apr 2013
Sweet. Anything that streamlines the article creation process is a good thing :)
muntdefems 26 Apr 2013
Whatever happened to pagination arrows? They have completely disappeared from everywhere (both articles' comments and here in the forum).

I guess Liam is twiddling again with the page design, but I'm reporting it anyway in case it wasn't intentional.
