Rocket League is one of my fastest starting games. You can use the following commands to check possible memory overruns:
RAM: free -m
VRAM: glxinfo -B
When I tried Rocket League, I closed every other applications, only a gnome-terminal was open. And it's not really the launch, which is quite the same as in windows, but loading games takes forever, and I don't even have the loading screen, it just goes full back screen

for the memory I have 4 GB of RAM and 8 GB of swap.

Here's the output of glxinfo -B

Quoting: GuestIf the Intel GPU uses 3 GB of shared memory no wonder you computer is slow, it is swapping with 1 GB of RAM. Go into Bios and use 1 GB of shared memory for the GPU.
There's no option for this in my bios, the only things outside usb configuration is battery related.
