That's been fixed as of now :)
On Patreon, people select a specific tier, PayPal has none of that.
So how do we go about doing this correctly? Currently the amount paid is split across what the minimum monthly amount for Premium is and people on PayPal are given x months of it.
How do we factor Supporter+ into that? How would you want it done?
Switching back and forth when you already store in months is a bit tricky since the + tier is not double the normal one. You could do it by applying an extra factor, but that already sounds like a pain without trying to implement it.
To be honest, I'd be fine if you just leave it as it is. You haven't attached any benefits to the + tier, so I imagine that you have better ways to spend your time.
Is the amount above x? Yes - give the higher supporter status for that month and check each time. That way it remains fair to PayPal and Patreon supporters.
Edit: Done. I still need to adjust it to take into account multiple payments in a month (we don't want it removed if you pay enough, then pay again less in the same month), but it's a start and no one currently pays more than once a month so it's not a problem currently.
Nice work, thanks for fixing it!
As mentioned in a reply above, Patreon currently runs it on a month by month basis based on what was pledged each month. If I change that for PayPal, it's creates some unfairness.
It will become too complicated and take too much time, If I have to start manually processing individual PayPal donations and work out how long it will cover and how long that will be for Supporter Plus.
To have a Supporter Plus sub, as mentioned on the Support Us page, it needs to be a minimum of $7/£5.50 each month.
Edit: Since it wasn't previously clear, I've adjusted it for you for this month :)
I may have to look into some special PayPal integration, so people can pick between the two - that's likely the best way to go forwards on this. Will look into it.
Edit #2: I've added a sticky post in this forum to make it clear :). Until the integration is done, I will do it manually for people.
Edit #3: The PayPal script has also now been improved (as has our database) to take into account the date Support Plus ends, independently of the standard Supporter end date. This means, any additional smaller payments will now not overwrite Supporter Plus status :)
