I recently downloaded d9vk (master.zip) and installed it as per Serge's instructions for use with SteamPlay (thanks again Serge), and, I must say, in almost all respects, was really impressed.

Most impressive was Fallout NV looked soooo much nicer (HDR off). Even better, it ceased randomly hanging on loading at the beginning of a session and stopped randomly going to a black screen, 0% chance to hit in VATS. If I'd known about PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1 %command% to fix the LAA issue I might have even been able to run it on fullscreen 1920x1080. I'll do it when I try out d9vk again in the future.

Unfortunately Borderlands 2 and Call of Juarez both had problems rendering shaders/textures (I'm not really sure which) such that, in Borderlands, certain Ice/Snow textures were simply white. Flat white, with some black outlining. So whole landscapes looked like new coloring book pages. In CoJ something similar happened on certain clothing, which was either white or a washed out pastel color. Unfortunately my screen capture program (scrot) didn't work with d9vk so no pix. Sorry.

I reluctantly switched back to regular SteamPlay. Once again Borderlands had rendered snowscapes and "wall sphincters," but otherwise, it looked and responded better with d9vk.

If anyone has any ideas what might need tweaking or what I might have overlooked, I'm all ears.

How beautiful run Medal of Honor Airborne with d9vk!!
Almost 100% more FPS than with D3D9...
The game, randomly crash to desktop (even with PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1 %command% , but I don't know if it is a Proton issue, a D9VK issue or a game issue..

Anyone tried The Witcher lately? My previous tries always produced distorted colors. So I decided to wait until later versions.

Yeah, I mapped F12 in for that game, but then just reverted back from d9dk before I used it.

I use Kozec's SC-Controller for gaming and mapped scrot to take a screenshot in or out of Steam, then save it locally in a screenshot folder. Yay! For whatever reason, it couldn't take a screenshot of d9vk screens.

Thanks for the tip though. :)

Life is Strange via FORCED PROTON 4.2-9 with D9VK. VSYNC ON
Attention! The game crash if MSAA is turned ON.. don't use it.

It works out of the box, except for that detail...
Maybe you will have to start the game using the "safe mode" and from there adjust the settings, leaving MSAA off.
I don't know if the settings are stored in the steam cloud.

Anyway, the game works with much more frame rate than the Feral port.

I will try this again with a more modest hardware, like a GTX 750ti or a GTX 960...
