Can i somehow turn off controller handling in Steam in order to always use sc-controller and only sc-controller, for all games?

Not sure it will help you, but in my case, I launch sc controller at the startup minimize in the tray.

Doesn't work if Steam Controller isn't always connected (when connecting Steam grabs it faster than sc-controller). But when Steam Controller is connected my PC doesn't suspend properly (bug of this particular controller?)

My controller is indeed always plug in via usb. Sorry for not being of much help.
