Do you know any good RTS games like Total War? (native Linux support would be great, but Proton is fine, too)

I search for something with similar battle mechanics (freely movable units, flanking, shock cavalry, heroes, etc.), maybe even something like spells. I don't care much about campaign, more the custom battles.

It doesn't need to be as complex as Warhammer (1 & 2).

I really liked [King Arthur](https://store.steampowered.com/app/24400/King_Arthur__The_Roleplaying_Wargame/) and it's [sequel](https://store.steampowered.com/app/24480/King_Arthur_II_The_RolePlaying_Wargame/), it's similar to Total War at least in battles.
