So a new release of Unvanquished, version 0.53

Anyone played this, Is it any good?

Along the lines of Assault Cube, Assault Cube Reloaded, Sauerbraten, Red Eclipse ?

Or is it different, with decent single player campaign?
I know they forked the ID engine, that would have been huge 10 years ago.
Now, not so much.

I tried it a couple release versions ago. It's well polished but still feels like an alpha or beta in gameplay, plus there wasn't really anybody on the servers. So I decided I'll try it again once they hit 1.0.
