I forget where I was, but it was another one of those long, wet runs. What he said was "500 finish speed zone", not "finish speed zone". Too late, I stepped on it. When that happens, the race is lost, you'll never make up that time (probably longer than the race itself). So I restart and all is going well, until later in the race where I blew it in a 30 zone. Just briefly in the red, but it would cost me the race. So I uttered incantations that would shock beezleboob himself and quit lol
Similarly, if you get irrevocably stuck and have to go back to the last checkpoint, that'll give you like a 15 minute penalty. In that case it's probably OK, because the doofus rookie mode contestants are going to get just as stuck lol
What a retarded thing to have in a racing game, and to add insult... make it unforgiving (dinged for 1 km/h over the limit, instantly) and make it ruinously costly.
And if they couldnt be bothered coding AI to drive through the speed zones then give us a speed limit button like nearly every other racing game has for pit lane speed limits........ Its really not that hard..... Even EA can do it......
The difficulty settings in this game are poor....... I dont get why we cant have a "custom" difficulty and tweak things to how we like it...... Im a big proponent of the more settings we have for gameplay and difficulty the better it is for everyone.......
Ive put over 200 hours into the game so for me its still really good and worth playing for me...... But it does have a lot of short comings as well.......
Its still better than Paris-Dakar Rally on the PS2........
In fact I won't drive 50 km/h under normal circumstances. That's the speed limit on most town and city streets. I don't pay too much attention to speed limits, I make my own decisions. It's rare to get a ticket and when you do, the cop usually apologetically reduces it to a lower offense. I drive like a bastard and I've got a completely clean driving record right now (I haven't had a speeding ticket in probably 20 years)
I'm sure there are speed zones in rally races, but I'm also sure you don't get dinged for going 31 km/h for a split second. They realize that the engines in racing cars are neither made, nor geared for that horseshit.
E.g. travel for 500 meters 1km/h above the speed limit - only then do you get a fine or time penalty.
So then, sounds like a game you would enjoy? :-)
(Please don't blow me up for that! It's just that "birds bombarding with eggs" thing lol)

I look forward to seeing your charred remains when I get back from walking the dog.........
It's one of the more notorious kusoge*, really.
*A Japanese contraction of "kuso geemu", meaning "shit game". It very specifically refers to stuff like this. And [Transformers: Convoy no Nazo](https://tfwiki.net/wiki/Transformers:_Mystery_of_Convoy). And so on.
Nah, that's just reserved for you and your crassness.
