Additionally, if you run a business you can usually supply a verifiable VAT number, providing this number allows you to purchase items without the VAT. It doesn't matter if you're purchasing for personal use or business if you're self employed, you can basically go VAT free, most big retailers like Scan, Ebuyer, etc support this.
But there's a catch: You must report everything back to HMRC as a business. That means a whopping tax bill for all that VAT you skipped. :happy:
