Explain to a Proton noob, how is it Flatpak if it's a Windows game on Steam?

I'm interested in these games BTW. I have them on my developer account but I want to buy them on my own account. I only played about an hour into the first one, they are really sweet.

Sorry for the confusion, I have the Steam client installed as flatpak.

Steam from Flatpak. Not the game itself.

The flatpak is legit, but not recommended by Valve as far as I know.
