Dying Light: The Beast rated Steam Deck Verified ahead of release

A few hours before Dying Light: The Beast releases today, Valve put up a green tick for it to be Steam Deck Verified and SteamOS Compatible. There's no special notices about external gamepads or any online requirements, so hopefully that will make it easy to take it on the go and to dock to a TV too.

It's going to be a big release, with over a million pre-orders so this is exciting to see. However, performance is always a concern when it comes to bigger games like this. The Steam Deck Verified badge doesn't always mean the performance is actually where you would expect it to be, Valve are a bit inconsistent on the rating when it comes to overall performance. Mostly correct, but there's been a few definite odd cases that shouldn't be Verified.

The developers seem happy with it, since they announced the rating too. In their announcement Techland said: "Want to UNLEASH THE BEAST wherever, whenever? Well, you can because Dying Light: The Beast is Steam Deck Verified and fully optimized for smooth gameplay!".

I'm even more curious about it now.

Need a catch up? Techland released a new "The Story So Far" trailer you can view below:
