GamingOnLinux turns 7 years old on July 5th! We are going to celebrate in style!

Quoting: wleoncioI'd love to participate. Too bad the only one of those I have is Grid Autosport (Broforce is on my Wishlist, but I'm done shopping for now). Any chance we can get some MP mayhem going on in BattleBlock Theater? For more players, I'd like to suggest War Thunder and TF2. In case you're in a cooperation mood (very Open Source-like, I might add), there's always Borderlands 2 and L4D2
If there is room to expand it we will, but I can't please everyone :).

Will do what I can to get people involved, all games in the list are popular games.

You do realize they compared it to other graphics cards of similar TDP right? And also a few people have had blackouts and broken PCIe slots already right?

Yeah right...

Just a guess... Is it possible that the forced Win10 upgrade is triggering a lot more survey request to Win10 users because of the configuration change?

It would reflect in a Linux percentage drop, giving a wrong image of the real Linux marketshare.

Things might come back to normal after July 29th...

That's interesting, and that's got to be a first for me at least.

It may simply be that Linux users are more active in finding what's out there and Mac users are more passive and simply buy what's available. If that is the case, Linux may be a more interesting target for crowd funding.

You get more windows reports because the windows system crashes and reboots itself almost daily. While the Linux systems tend to run forever.

I hope the remake of System Shock is successful so they have incentive to remake System Shock 2 too :P Really loved that game back in the day, but now the graphics are too outdated for me.

Quoting: liamdaweYou can see their Steam forum post here. They stated later they are now doing it as they have heard us. Mac apparently is a lower priority as Linux has been in higher demand.

That's interesting, and that's got to be a first for me at least.
Hopefully the demo can be solid.

I just get the feeling at first, they didn't have a linux machine, after gathering feedback, they find a spare pc in the basement somewhere cause they hade to look for something that could run linux.
And now "they have" a dev that's using linux.

Im joking, this is a good thing, and Im surprised that Linux is a higher priority then Mac.
And Im cool with them suddenly change there answers on Linux, there is probably reason they couldn't speak to mutch about it in the past, but now when the demand is bigger they can commit more to a linux port, instead of just making a linux port cause they just want to support linux or cause it was a kickstarter goal.

It won't cause issues as even older cards draw more from PCIe slot after OC so it won't magically burn your MoBo.

I got the latest survey on both Linux & Windows, I refused the Windows one of course & went ahead with the more important one.

It's still not accurate, if they want it accurate they need to send it to EVERY single steam user all at once, then we'd see how well or badly Linux is actually doing & make the complete one Mandatory instead of optional.

That was ovious

20 Games Top Sellers, Only 5 Titles to Linux

Games like

DOOM,Rocket League,The Witcher 3,Dark Souls 3,Rise of The Tomb Raider etc

You think anyone who is a Pro GAMER etc, would switch to Linux?

For what? To play 2+ years old games and even with lower performance?

Like it or not thats the harsh true .

Linux still has a long road ahead and hopefully one day would be treated equaly in both new game releases and performance.
