Quoting: GuestThe program that tells you it’s 931.5 GB is wrong, it’s 931.5 GiB.
931.5*1024*1024*1024 = 1000190509056

Which is way short of a TB ;)
No, it’s slightly more than a TB. You’re thinking of a TiB…

I give up, kudos to the PR departments of the hdd company's using si units, It's serving them well

Quick Q,

You show two screenshots of the difference between TreeFX and non-TreeFX. But you didn't say which one was which :-).

Which has TreeFX enabled, left or right?

Me too! Acquired december 2013, but never had the time to play. When I learnt Feral was doing the port, I decided to wait for the Linux version anyway, so that my play enters the Linux statistics. That must be the explanation. The SteamID maybe is different. Thanks for contacting them.

Quoting: pete910What gets my goat is the fact they recon 931.5 GB (un partitioned) is apparently 1 TB :><:

Seems to be the norm and know ones pissed about it.....

1024 gigabyte is a TB or if you want it in bytes 1099511627776

Also highly doubt a program that does the partitioning is going to get it wrong...

Tomb Raider released for Linux, thoughts & port report included, the first Linux game to use TressFX

So I managed to run it on my Manjaro Linux and AMD graphics card with open source drivers. Note that to do so I used 32 bit libraries not bundled with the game, so take this report just as a personal note.

My specs:
CPU AMD A10-7850K, 16 GB RAM DDR3 2133 Mhz
GPU AMD 7850 1 GB GDDR5
Kernel 4.5.2, Mesa 11.2.1, LLVM 3.7.1, libDRM 2.4.67
xf86-video-ati 7.7.0, XOrg 1.17
Driver used: radeonsi

Game was run at 1980x1080 resolution. Graphics drivers crashes if I run the game with graphics settings to anything above "Low", but benchmark works. On "low" settings the game suffers stuttering usually near a quick time event, making the experience very disappointing. Sometimes it skips entire sequences because of stuttering. The game isn't smooth, because the FPS oscillate.

Benchmarks results:
"Normal"
MIN: 6.9, MAX: 75.2, AVG: 56.0

"High"
MIN: 5.4, MAX: 67.7, AVG: 50.6

"Low"
MIN: 4.9, MAX: 84.8, AVG: 64.0

I will publish benchmarks under Windows 7, same PC, ASAP.

Quoting: zebI only have 16GB left. Could it be the reason? How big is it? By the way, the install dialog does not display the size before install, as it should do.

Its said to be a 10-11gb download. Didn't show the size for me too.

EDIT: Which version do you have? I got it through the "Tomb Raider Collection" in 2013.

That version is a Windows bundle with many Windows only games, it appears to not have added Linux depots for TR 2013. We'll be contacting valve to ask them to have a look into it.

Thanks :)

AFAIK downloads are compressed. I read something about 20 GB installed somewhere.

Steam news of the day seems to be "The Culling on SteamOS". It seems a current early access game is considered bigger news than such a big but some years old title... :-/

Anybody already tried it with Nvidia driver 355(.11)?

This is not working for me. Besides, changing the download server leads to Steam restarting anyway.

Quoting: kellerkindtAnyone else for whom it does not download anything on steam? :(

Yes, same problem here. It stops at 0 bytes, but says "Ready to play". Maybe a server issue, I will try to change it.

Edit: I tried UK-London and Sweden, same issue. No download.

Same here, tried Munich, Frankfurt and Seattle. I am also already in touch with the feral support...

Did not work for me. Restarted several times. Even retested steam as suggested by the support without success.

It's not launching on my Manjaro Linux (Arch Linux derivative) with radeonsi and mesa 11.2.1 because of some missing 32-bit libraries, I'm working on a fix...
